This one can get complicated. Irrigation systems that are automated should be set up with appropriate hydrozones to avoid overwatering. Too much water can do as much damage as too little! Generally, turf should be watered every other day. Shrubs and bushes should be watered every 3-5 days and mature trees should be watered 1-2 times a month. Soil drainage, texture and type all influence the water requirements for each property. If you aren't sure, allow our expert team to assist you with your irrigation needs!
Yes! San Diego County has been under attack by the South American Palm weevil. It has decimated the total population of Canary Date Palm trees in the southern portion of San Diego County and continues to move north and into related palm species. Preventative treatments can help reduce the likelihood of infestation of your palms. Once they have begun an attack on a palm, treatments are no longer effective.
Plant Health Care is a holistic wholeview approach to landscape health and appearance. All of these items are reviewed and managed in a Plant Health Care program for your landscape. Protect the plants on your property and prevent damage before it occurs.
Most trees can be pruned any time of year, however there are a few trees in the San Diego area that should only be pruned in the Winter. Those trees include our Pine and Oak species. This is due to the increased potential of boring insects that can negatively affect the health of these trees if pruned during these months. Palm pruning should be avoided in winter months as they can damage palms. Leave it to our team of experts to guide you on the appropriate pruning, at the appropriate time.
